UK collecting societies PPL and PRS for Music have published some new figures from 2016. PPL said that its international collections rose 34% to £49.1m last year, as it collected revenue for its members from 33 countries.
The society said that from a “currency neutral” perspective, the growth of this revenue stream was 18% though. “Whilst the global market is still immature and there are data and volume challenges, PPL’s long term investment, expansion and vision ensures that our talented members continue to benefit from this market,” said PPL’s Laurence Oxenbury in a statement.
